Testimonial

I have been an In Home client for at least 15 years. During that time I have received excellent, reliable, consistent care from PCAs trained and supervised by In Home.

Quality Home Care Services by People Who Understand

Home Care

Home care services offer a range of medical care and support services provided in the client’s home and community. Services range from simple assistance in activities of daily living (ADL), to a level of care similar to cares provided in a hospital. We offer a variety of homecare services to meet a client’s specific needs including:

PCA (Personal Care Attendants)

An individual enrolled with MHCP and employed by In Home Personal Care. PCAs may provide cares that are determined to be medically necessary, approved in the client’s service plan, and documented in the recipient’s PCA care plan. Bowel and bladder care; skin care; range of motion exercises; respiratory assistance; transfers; bathing, grooming, and hairwashing necessary for personal hygiene; turning and positioning; assistance with furnishing medication that is ordinarily self administered; application and maintenance of prosthetics and orthotics; cleaning equipment; dressing or undressing; assistance with food, nutrition, and diet activities; accompanying a client to obtain medical diagnosis or treatment and to attend other activities such as church and school if the personal care assistant is needed to provide personal care services while the recipient is absent from his or her residence; and performing other services essential to the effective performance of the duties listed above are tasks a Personal Care Attendant may complete.

Clients who are receiving PCA services can elect one of the following programs:

Standard / Traditional PCA – In Home Personal Care assists with hiring, firing, and training PCAs. We pre-screen and check criminal background studies of all applicants and forward only qualified candidates to interview with the client. The client then chooses and schedules the PCAs as the client desires. On-Call is available to work with a client if their regularly scheduled attendant is unable to do so. On-call provides extra assurance a client’s needs are met.

PCA Choice Option: A recipient-directed option within the PCA program under which the recipient of services, or their responsible party, is responsible for hiring, firing, training and directing his/her PCA. PCA Choice allows the recipient more choice and control over their services and decreases administrative overhead expense.

**  These options are chosen during the Public Health Nurse’s Assessment.

HHA (Home Health Aide)

HHA services are medically oriented tasks required to maintain the recipient’s health or to facilitate treatment of an illness or injury. Services must be ordered by a physician and have professional supervision. HHAs may assist with personal cares such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, routine catheter and colostomy care, ambulating, transfers or positioning; simple dressing changes that do not require the skills of a licensed nurse; assisting with medications that are ordinarily self-administered and do not require the skill of a licensed nurse for safe and effective provision; assisting with activities that are directly supportive of skilled therapy services but do not require the skill of a therapist to be safely and effectively performed, such as routine maintenance exercises; routine care of prosthetic and orthotic devices and incidental household services necessary to the provision of one of the above health related services.

HMK (Homemaker)

General household activities are provided by a trained homemaker when a person is unable to manage the home or when the person regularly responsible for these activities is temporarily absent or unable to manage the home. Homemaker services are listed in the community support plan of the person and may include: meal preparation; routine household tasks; assistance with activities of daily living; assistance with arranging transportation; companionship; informal emotional support; social stimulation; and monitoring the safety and well being of the client.
